 Acronyms and Definitions

Throughout this website there might be some terms and acronyms used that are WoW-related that you may not know. Chances are you'll find them here. If I left something out please do email me!

AB – Arathi Basin
Aggro – if someone has aggro it means mobs are attacking them
Alt – Subsequent characters you level up on a server when you already have a higher level character
AV – Alterac Valley
BOE – Bind on equip
BOP – Bind on pickup
DD – Direct damage
DOT – Damage over time
DPS – damage per second
FF – Faerie fire
Gank – to kill someone of lower level or low on health
HOT – Heal over time
HT – Healing Touch
Main – your first character on a server
MOTW – Mark of the Wild
Nerf – to make less powerful
NG – Nature’s Grasp
NS – Nature’s Swiftness
Nuke – attacking with spells
OOC – Omen of Clarity
OOM – Out of mana
PVE – Player versus environment
PVP – Player versus player
Rejuv – Rejuvenation
Tank – Person taking hits
WSG – Warsong Gulch
